Strengthening the Labour Market

The AMBM in collaboration with CDEM is carrying out a project Strengthening the Labour Market in Manitoba’s rural bilingual municipalities. This project aims to meet the labour needs of employers, promote the growth of businesses in Manitoba’s rural bilingual municipalities, and develop Francophone markets in Canada and abroad by hiring a qualified bilingual workforce.

In line with the Strategy to Support Economic Immigration in Manitoba’s Bilingual Municipalities, this project has two distinct components:

  1. Completion of an economic study to identify employers’ needs for skilled workers, as well as business opportunities, leading to the development of a strategy to connect employers (or business opportunities) with newcomers.
  2. Raising employers’ awareness of the importance of hiring diverse candidates and strengthening their cultural capabilities.

Ultimately, this project will boost entrepreneurship and counter the shortage of qualified bilingual workers in Manitoba’s rural bilingual municipalities
