Kelly Bado

What products or services do you offer?

My products are natural and made from shea and cacao butter. They also contribute to fair trade.

What is your market?

My market covers the whole of Winnipeg.

How did you come up with your business idea?

I was using these products daily and thought they were very good. I wanted to share them with the rest of the world, but I also wanted to support fair trade my way.

What is the most important lesson you have learned in your entrepreneurial journey?

To be well organized.

What was the proudest moment in your entrepreneurial career?

Simply, the fact that I tried to make a difference.

What do you think are the most important skills for an entrepreneur?

Good organization, vision for the future, teamwork and a lot of perseverance.

Can you describe your team or company structure?

My sisters help me. Carine supervises the social media and marketing. Raissa helps me with the online shop and the inventory management.

How do you like to relax and unwind after a long day at work?

Playing with my son, chilling in an armchair and watching TV are relaxing to me.

If you were not an entrepreneur, you would be…

I do not think I would be anything else.

What other local businesses/entrepreneurs inspire you and why?

Just the goods, because the owner is a real leader. She helped me a lot when I started my business, and now she is one of my clients. Her support is priceless. I admire Generation Green too, for the same reasons.
