April 22 is Earth Day.

Let’s take action together for our planet and our community! Join us in picking up trash along the Seine River!

Every year for over 40 years, the world celebrates Earth Day on April 22. The CDEM carries on the tradition by organizing a citizen action on this occasion!

On Friday, May 5, a waste collection will take place along the Seine River followed by a convivial moment around hot drinks and snacks at the Café Molière of the Théâtre Cercle Molière

SCHEDULE – FRIDAY MAY 5

  • 9:30am: Meet in front of the CDEM, 614 Des Meurons St, Winnipeg, to form teams and split up to different locations along the Seine River
  • 10am-12pm: Neighbourhood clean-up by team (then drop-off of waste at the CDEM)
  • 12h-13h00 : Gathering at the Café Molière of the Théâtre Cercle Molière, at 340 Provencher Blvd, for a social moment

The CDEM will provide the necessary supplies to collect the waste. However, we invite you to use your own reusable gloves (kitchen gloves, gardening gloves, etc.), and in case of rain, to wear suitable shoes (boots with non-slip soles), as the river banks can be slippery.
