A public servant by day and a certified yoga teacher, Lisbeth Savard is developing her business Moon Circle & Flow with Lisbeth, which offers retreats and women’s circles in French, in Manitoba. With a gentle and inclusive approach, she creates a space for sharing and connection, essential in a world moving at full speed.
Lisbeth Savard is a mother of two, a school trustee and has been interested in feminist women’s movements since a very young age. The idea of an entrepreneurial journey in this vein germinated in 2017, following an event in his personal life.
Determined to do something for her, and motivated by her then 11-year-old son, she attended a women’s retreat in the Boston area. This experience proved to be so enriching that she decided to train in this field.
In 2018, she began her journey to become certified with the American organization Sistership Circle, and then completed her yoga teacher training in 2022, after more than 20 years of practice. The challenge was to find training not only in French, but also in Canada. That’s why Lisbeth had to turn to the United States.
However, women’s circles and retreats meet a fundamental need: “I find that we have fewer spaces than before where we can gather among women, just to be present. With increasingly heavy mental loads, it’s difficult. We have so much stress and pressure in life. Women’s circles are spaces where people can come together, share, without judgment. There is no coaching or feedback. We don’t have to do or take care of anything. We’re just there, and we’re putting the rest aside. We get together, we recharge our batteries, we make connections. And then it’s also about being in a safe space.”
Lisbeth currently offers several services: women’s circles, women’s retreats (over several days), yoga classes or meditation workshops.
In fact, a retreat is planned for April, near Riding Mountain.
On the program? Gentle yoga, meditation, cocoa ceremony and access to the spa. The meditation workshop will take place on May 4 from 1pm to 4pm and the cocoa ceremony on May 31 from 2pm to 4pm. Both activities will be in French and will take place at 184 Provencher Boulevard.
Although she continues to work as a civil servant, Lisbeth is gradually building her business, Moon Circle & Flow with Lisbeth. “If all goes well, I’ll retire in maybe seven years,” she says. My vision is to build my business little by little. In any case, it’s important to me to offer all these services and activities in French. »
She sees a growing need for her services: “We live in a society that is quite overwhelmed, even anxiety-provoking. We really see a lot more burnout. But I think it’s so important for everyone to sometimes find moments to just take a break, breathe! I think we will need everything spiritual to be able to refocus. “
Her philosophy can be summed up simply: “I think that as a woman, the better you feel, the more you can give to others.”
